The world's theology by James Montgomery Boice

The world's theology is easy to define.
It is the view . . .
that human beings are basically good,
that no one is really lost,
that belief in Jesus Christ is not necessary for salvation.

"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."
Romans 1:22

  1. As you're probably aware, some Christians believe these things as well. I don't believe that human beings are basically good, but agree with the doctrine of prevenient grace. If I understand it correctly, it means that because of the curse of sin, human beings are incapable of doing or being good. To the extent that people can be good or do good things, it's only because the grace of God enables them to. This applies to any person, Christian. Having said that, this does not affect the need for all people to consider the claims of Christ on their lives. Being good is not enough.
